Evolving from the original DC Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program, DCFNE ensures that survivors can receive care without the pressure of engaging with the criminal justice system, preserving their dignity and autonomy.
DCFNE is the sole provider of medical forensic care for adults in the District of Columbia and one of only two programs serving adolescents. By offering free medical forensic examinations, the organization plays a critical role in supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
