Our Story

The District of Columbia Access to Justice Commission was established in 2005 by the D.C. Court of Appeals to improve access to the civil justice system for low- and moderate-income residents. The Commission raises awareness about the critical need for equal access to justice in the community.

Impact

Since its inception, the Commission has secured over $106 million in public funding for civil legal services, significantly increasing the number of attorneys available to assist low-income residents and expanding legal services in underserved areas.

Why Donate?

The Commission relies entirely on the generosity of law firms and individual donors, as it does not receive public funds. Your donations are vital to sustaining efforts that improve access to justice for all.
