Our Story
Founded in 2003 by Dr. Ehsan Hoque, Distressed Children & Infants International (DCI) addresses the urgent needs of children in countries like Bangladesh, India, and Nicaragua. Inspired by his own struggles with congenital cataracts, Dr. Hoque established DCI to provide essential education, healthcare, vision care, and skill development opportunities for underprivileged children and families.
Impact
DCI has made significant strides, supporting 40 students in passing their School Secondary Certificate (SSC) exams in 2024. Additionally, over 5,200 disadvantaged children and 7,752 adults in Bangladesh have received free eye care, including cataract surgeries and vision screenings.
Why Donate?
With 85% of DCI's total operating expenses directly funding programs for children, every donation makes a profound impact on the lives of those in poverty.
