Discovering Amistad is dedicated to educating and collaborating to dismantle systemic racism and achieve justice and equality through the lens of the Amistad Uprising of 1839. This organization engages students and communities in understanding this important historical event and its relevance today.

To date, Discovering Amistad has reached more than 20,000 students in grades 3-12, providing them with lessons about justice, freedom, and human rights through a proprietary curriculum that includes dockside visits aboard the Amistad.
