Founded in 2007 by Ben Smilowitz after witnessing the inadequate response to Hurricane Katrina, the Disaster Accountability Project (DAP) aims to ensure public accountability in disaster relief. DAP provides a platform for survivors, emergency workers, and volunteers to report gaps in disaster response, advocating for improved practices and transparency.
