About Disability Rights Connecticut

Disability Rights Connecticut (DRCT) is a dedicated nonprofit organization that champions the civil and human rights of individuals with disabilities across Connecticut. Established in 2017, DRCT emerged from the need for a robust advocacy body following the dissolution of the Office of Protection & Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities. Governed by a Board of Directors primarily composed of individuals with disabilities and their families, DRCT focuses on legal advocacy and rights protection.

Impact of Advocacy

DRCT's mission is to advocate, educate, and pursue legal remedies to ensure individuals with disabilities can fully participate in community life. Through systemic advocacy and public education, DRCT has made significant strides in improving the lives of those it serves.
