Our Story
The Disability Community Resource Center (DCRC) was founded in 1976 in Los Angeles by a group of friends with disabilities who envisioned a center for independent living. Originally named the Westside Center for Independent Living, DCRC has overcome numerous challenges, including the loss of its first Executive Director and a devastating fire. With unwavering community support, DCRC has thrived, relocating to a new accessible building and rebranding in 2017 to better reflect its mission. Today, DCRC serves a diverse population, providing essential programs and services tailored to the evolving needs of individuals with disabilities.
