Founded by type 1 diabetes patient Kelly Close, The diaTribe Foundation emerged from the diaTribe newsletter, which began as a volunteer effort in 2006. In 2013, it became a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals affected by diabetes, prediabetes, and obesity. With a mission driven by compassion and empathy, the foundation provides essential content and advocacy to help people navigate the complexities of diabetes.
