Diamond Educational Excellence Partnership

Our Story

Housed within the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation, the Diamond Educational Excellence Partnership (DEEP) is a collaborative effort among various organizations and community leaders dedicated to enhancing educational outcomes for students in the Diamond Community of southeastern San Diego. DEEP began its journey by analyzing primary data on student performance and insights from focus groups, as detailed in 'The State of Education in the Diamond Community' (Gianzero, 2010).

Impact

Currently, DEEP partners with schools serving over 1,000 students in grades PK-3, who are outperforming their peers in the neighborhood. These schools exemplify the potential for educational success, and while progress continues, the focus is on expanding the impact of proven strategies.
