Our Story

Developmental Education Services began in the early 1980s as a grassroots initiative by parents seeking support for their children with intellectual disabilities in Monroe County. Over the years, the organization has evolved to provide essential Community Participation Services for adults, reflecting a cultural shift towards inclusivity and empowerment. Today, DES operates two day programs and has introduced Supported Employment services, ensuring that adults with intellectual disabilities can thrive in their communities.
