Our Story

Founded by Ms. Courtney, who experienced housing insecurity in Detroit, the Detroit Phoenix Center emerged from a quest for solutions to youth homelessness. After a transformative journey with the Millennial Trains Project in 2016, Ms. Courtney established DPC in 2017 as a volunteer-driven Asset Based Resource Center. This initiative provides essential drop-in services and support for teens and young adults in need.

Our Impact

Detroit Phoenix Center has opened its doors to over 1.5 million young people facing homelessness and human trafficking since 1972. By offering critical resources and a nurturing environment, DPC plays a vital role in helping youth transition out of poverty.
