About Detroit PAL

Founded in 1969, the Detroit Police Athletic League was established to provide children with opportunities to learn through athletics, fostering confidence and motivation. In 1996, Think Detroit was created as an alternative youth sports league, quickly attracting young athletes. The two organizations merged in 2006 to form Detroit PAL, which now serves over 14,000 young athletes annually through year-round programs.
