Our Story
Detroit CARES is an affiliate of The National CARES Mentoring Movement, founded in 2006 to address the urgent need for mentorship among African American youth. Established in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, this organization focuses on nurturing the emotional, social, and academic development of vulnerable children in the Detroit area.
