Our Story
Founded in 1997, Detention Watch Network (DWN) emerged from a coalition of organizations dedicated to combating the rapid expansion of the U.S. immigration detention system. Re-launched in 2005 as a dues-based membership network, DWN unites individuals and organizations to advocate for the civil and human rights of those affected by immigration detention.
Our Impact
DWN is recognized as a leading resource on immigration detention issues, influencing media and policymakers alike. The Network works tirelessly to dismantle the drivers of mass deportations and address the broader implications of incarceration in the U.S.
