Frisbie Senior Center

Our Story

Established in 1975, the Des Plaines Community Senior Center, known as the Frisbie Senior Center, was created to address the needs of seniors in the community. After discussions with local seniors, a dedicated program was launched to provide essential services and activities for those aged 70 and above. In 2003, the center secured a permanent location thanks to a generous donation from Eva Frisbie, transforming it into a vibrant drop-in activity and wellness center for individuals over 50.

Impact

In 2018, the center benefited from nearly 12,000 hours of volunteer support, equivalent to six full-time employees, highlighting the community's commitment to enhancing the lives of seniors.
