Founded in 1979 by Marion A. Hall, the Des Moines Choral Society began as a 250-member chorus for the inaugural concert of the Des Moines Symphony. Over the years, this auditioned choir of dedicated volunteers has become a cornerstone of the Central Iowa arts community, now under the artistic direction of James Rodde. The Society is committed to musical excellence, innovative repertoire, and community engagement.
