Our Story
Denville Voices for Racial Justice emerged from heartfelt conversations on social media, ignited by the tragic murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. In June 2020, a small group of dedicated Denville residents came together virtually to discuss how to take a stand against racial injustice. This collective effort quickly transformed into a powerful rally on June 6, 2020, where nearly 1,000 community members marched peacefully down Main Street, honoring the lives of Black and Brown individuals unjustly taken from us.
During this impactful event, young voices shared their harrowing experiences with racism, fostering a sense of solidarity and a commitment to creating a more just and welcoming community for all residents of color. From this pivotal moment, Denville Voices Inc was born, evolving into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting equity and equality in Denville, New Jersey.
