The Denver Gay and Lesbian Flag Football League (DGLFFL) began as informal pickup games in Cheesman Park and was formally established in June 2008 with 60 players. Since then, it has grown into one of the largest LGBTQIA+ flag football leagues in the United States, boasting 24 teams and over 300 players. The league is dedicated to creating an environment of diversity and equal opportunity for all, regardless of gender, identity, creed, orientation, age, race, or socio-economic status.
The DGLFFL has hosted the Gay Bowl twice and has made significant contributions to the Denver LGBTQIA+ community by promoting inclusivity and competitive sports.
