Our Story
The Delta Housing Corporation of the District of Columbia (DHCDC) was founded in 1975 by dedicated members of the Washington DC Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. With a mission to provide decent, safe, and sanitary affordable housing, DHCDC constructed Delta Towers Apartments in 1979, marking a significant milestone as the first housing project for seniors in the H Street renewal area following the 1968 riots. In 2018, DHCDC expanded its efforts with the construction of Fortitude at Delta Towers, further enhancing affordable housing options for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
