Transforming Urban Spaces Through Community Action

Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association (DNDA) is dedicated to revitalizing urban environments and fostering community engagement in Seattle. With roots tracing back to the Nature Consortium, DNDA has been a beacon of hope for local neighborhoods since its inception. The Urban Forest Restoration Program, established in 2003, mobilizes volunteers to restore the West Duwamish Greenbelt, Seattle's largest contiguous forest. Over 30,000 volunteers have contributed to clearing over 2 million square feet of invasive species and planting 60,000 native plants, creating a thriving ecosystem.

Making a Lasting Impact

DNDA collaborates with local artists and community organizers to engage diverse populations through various projects. The Youngstown Cultural Arts Center serves as a hub for creativity, housing an alternative high school and affordable living spaces for artists. The Urban Forest Restoration Program operates in over 10 parks, enhancing local watersheds and providing educational opportunities for youth through environmental science lessons.
