Cornerstone Community Center

Our Story

The Cornerstone Community Center has deep roots in the DeForest community, originating in the early 1970s with the formation of the Half Century Club. This small group of senior citizens gathered for monthly meetings and potluck luncheons, fostering connections among community members. Recognizing the need for a dedicated space for seniors and families, local leaders initiated a grassroots effort in the early 1980s, leading to the establishment of the Center in 1984, thanks to generous contributions from local businesses and community members.

Impact

Over the years, the Center has achieved significant milestones, including accreditation by the Wisconsin Association of Senior Centers, ensuring excellence in programming and services.
