Established in 2010 by Lama Jampa Thaye, Dechen Los Angeles is part of the Dechen association of Buddhist temples across North America, the UK, and Europe. This temple is dedicated to transmitting the rich traditions of the 900-year-old Sakya lineage of Tibetan Buddhism through teachings from visiting masters and local classes led by experienced instructors.
Dechen LA actively supports community initiatives, including aiding the homeless through Feed The Streets Los Angeles and hosting events for veterans like the annual Murph challenge. The temple also promotes community engagement through cycling charity rides.
