Our Story

Debris Free Oceans is a Miami-based organization dedicated to inspiring local communities to responsibly manage the lifecycle of plastics and waste. As part of a global initiative, the mission focuses on eradicating marine debris from our beaches, reefs, and oceans. By promoting a circular economy, Debris Free Oceans encourages individuals to rethink single-use consumption and embrace sustainable lifestyles through the 5Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recapture, and Redesign.

Impact

With a commitment to education and community engagement, Debris Free Oceans has successfully educated over 10,000 students about plastic pollution, removed over 50,000 pounds of trash from the environment, and engaged 14,000 people at nearly 300 zero-waste events. Their sustainability consulting program has eliminated over 1 million plastic items from the waste stream.
