Our Story

Death Penalty Alternatives for Arizona (DPAA) was established in July 2012 through the merger of two organizations dedicated to abolishing the death penalty. This nonprofit educational organization is committed to raising awareness about the injustices of the death penalty and the broader criminal punishment system. Volunteers from across Arizona work tirelessly in Northern, Central, and Southern regions to advocate for change.

Impact

Since its inception, DPAA has built a diverse coalition focused on ending the death penalty in Arizona. The organization has expanded outreach efforts within prisons, fulfilling 33 book requests from death row prisoners, providing them with essential educational and therapeutic resources.
