Our Story
The Dayton Playhouse has been a vibrant community theatre since 1959, originally known as Dayton Community Theatre. It has provided family entertainment and educational opportunities for children and teens through its Youtheatre program. After moving through various venues, including the historic State Theatre and a converted bowling alley, it now thrives at its current location off Siebenthaler Avenue. The Playhouse is renowned for its FutureFest playwrighting festival, which has launched the careers of many playwrights.
