Our Story

Since its inception in 1983, Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center has been a cornerstone for the Muslim community in Falls Church, Virginia. Originally starting in a house, the center has grown to serve approximately 40,000 Muslims in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. The current facility, which opened on March 2, 1991, was built despite numerous challenges, reflecting the resilience and dedication of the community.

Affiliated with the Muslim American Society since 1999, Dar Al-Hijrah embodies a commitment to social justice, education, and community service. The center not only serves as a place of worship but also as a hub for interfaith dialogue and community engagement.

Impact
