Our Story

Founded in 1985 by Elouise Dangerfield, the Dangerfield Institute of Urban Problems was born from a deep concern for drug-addicted infants lacking rehabilitative care. In 1989, DIUP established one of California's only residential programs for these vulnerable children, providing a safe haven and nurturing environment.

Our Impact

DIUP is dedicated to empowering foster youth, helping them reach their full potential through culturally relevant services.
