Founded in response to a 2006 NY State Supreme Court ruling, Dance Parade Inc. has become a beacon for dance advocacy and cultural expression. The organization successfully repealed the 91-year-old NYC Cabaret Law in 2017, allowing dance to flourish as a vital form of artistic expression. Each year, Dance Parade showcases over 10,000 dancers representing more than 100 unique cultures and dance styles, reaching an audience of over 150,000 in New York City.

Dance Parade is dedicated to promoting cultural equity and inclusion through its extensive dance education programs. These programs are offered in schools and community centers, culminating in participation in the annual parade and festival. In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic forced isolation, Dance Parade quickly transitioned its events online, launching the 'Dare to Dance' video contest that attracted over 50,000 participants from 91 countries. In 2021, a documentary titled 'The Resilience of Dance Through the Pandemic' was produced, showcasing the stories and performances of renowned dance companies.
