Our Story

The Dallas Junior Wheelchair Mavericks Basketball Association, founded in 1979, has evolved from the Variety Wheelchair Arts & Sports Association. This program has grown to include multiple teams, providing children with disabilities the opportunity to compete and thrive in wheelchair basketball. Many participants have gone on to excel at the collegiate level and aspire to the Paralympics.
