Daily Bread Soup Kitchen

Our Story

Daily Bread Soup Kitchen was established in 2009, stepping in to fill the gap left by the former Catholic Worker House's lunch program. Starting with just 30 sack lunches, the organization has grown to serve over 200 hot meals five days a week from its location at New Covenant Fellowship in Champaign. In December 2016, Daily Bread moved to a newly renovated facility at 116 N. First Street, enhancing its capacity to serve the community.

Impact

Daily Bread Soup Kitchen provides over 153,000 meals annually to those in need, serving a hot meal that includes an entrée, vegetables, salad, dessert, and beverage to more than 250 guests each day.

With a budget of approximately $13,000 a month, every contribution directly supports the mission of feeding the hungry in Champaign-Urbana.
