Cultivate Initiatives

Our Story

Cultivate Initiatives began as a grassroots movement in 2018, sparked by neighbors helping neighbors. When a new shelter for Veterans experiencing houselessness was announced in the Mill Park Neighborhood, some residents protested. However, Caleb Coder, a co-founder of Cultivate, organized an Eat & Greet event to welcome the shelter residents. This initiative fostered community engagement and transformed a group of concerned individuals into a dedicated organization focused on creating spaces of safety, belonging, and opportunity.
