About CUES Fund

Founded in 1975, CUES Fund emerged from the need to support Sacred Heart School in north Omaha as community dynamics shifted. With the decline of parishioners, local business leaders united to form CUES, a 501c3 organization dedicated to securing financial support from corporations and foundations. In 2012, CUES expanded its mission to include All Saints and Holy Name Schools, addressing the urgent need to prevent school closures in the neighborhood.

In 2018, CUES evolved into two distinct entities: the CUES School System, which governs the schools, and the CUES Fund, which focuses solely on funding. This innovative model, supported by the Archdiocese of Omaha, allows for specialized governance and funding, ensuring that the educational needs of students are met effectively.

Impact of CUES Fund

Since its inception, CUES Fund has been a beacon of hope for youth in east Omaha. With 65% of families living in neighborhoods significantly below the median income, the challenges are immense. Studies show that poverty adversely affects brain development and learning capabilities, with 45% of children born into poverty likely to repeat the cycle. CUES Schools provide these children with the resources and support necessary to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
