Empowering Individuals with Disabilities

Since 1971, CTF Illinois has been dedicated to creating pathways towards independence and a higher quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Founded by Charley Smith and Jerry Meyer, the organization began as Southwest Community Services, addressing the employment needs of individuals discharged from mental health facilities. Today, CTF Illinois supports over 620 individuals and families across seven counties, promoting meaningful, joyful, and independent lives.

Making a Lasting Impact

CTF Illinois provides life skills training, community integration, and employment opportunities, operating 40 Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) homes. These services significantly enhance the quality of life for clients, fostering independence and community engagement.
