Founded in 1941, Hospital for Special Care began as The New Britain Rest Home, initially serving tuberculosis patients and later evolving to support polio victims. Today, it stands as a long-term acute care hospital dedicated to rehabilitation for complex medical conditions, serving both children and adults.
