Our Story

Founded in 1980 by Dr. Karen Hill-Scott and Alice Walker Duff, Crystal Stairs, Inc. addresses the critical need for quality child care in inner cities. Over the years, it has evolved into one of California's largest child care advocacy and resource referral organizations, serving over 50,000 children and families annually.

Impact

Crystal Stairs, Inc. provides essential school readiness services to over 16,000 children and supports more than 10,000 child care providers each year. Additionally, approximately 3,000 families benefit from health care services and comprehensive coaching, significantly enhancing community well-being and economic mobility.
