Founded in 1998 in Seattle, Crooked Trails has dedicated over two decades to establishing the principles of community-based, responsible tourism. Under the leadership of Christine Mackay and Tammy Leland, this educational non-profit organization has broadened travelers’ understanding of the impact of travel on cultures and ecosystems. By inspiring travelers to engage in true cultural exchange, Crooked Trails empowers local communities to take charge of tourism in their areas.
