Our Story
The Crime Victim Center of Erie County, Inc. was founded in 1973 by Joan Martin, who recognized the urgent need for support services for sexual assault victims after her daughter was a victim. Originally established as the Erie County Rape Crisis Center, the organization has evolved to assist all crime victims, providing essential counseling, prevention education, and advocacy.
Impact
In 2021, CVC staff supported nearly 4,000 victims of crime, including over 1,200 sexual assault victims. The organization offers free and confidential services, empowering individuals to transition from victims to survivors.
