Our Story

Crested Butte State of Mind (CBSOM) is a grassroots organization born from the community's commitment to combat the alarming suicide rates in Crested Butte. This initiative emphasizes that suicide is preventable and that every individual plays a vital role in this mission. By fostering connections to mental health resources, education, and offering free counseling scholarships, CBSOM is dedicated to enhancing mental wellness and reducing suicide rates in the Gunnison Valley.

Impact

Since its inception, CBSOM has raised $247,597, facilitated 4,800 counseling sessions for 400 individuals, and reached 10% of the uninsured population, significantly improving mental health services in the area.
