Our Story

Founded in 1967 by Marcel and Lois Houle, Creative Works began as a grassroots effort by families seeking better educational opportunities for their children with disabilities. Starting in a home in Saco, Maine, the organization has evolved from a small school to a comprehensive service provider for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and brain injuries. Over the years, Creative Works has expanded its reach and programming, now serving over 500 individuals annually.
