Our Story

Founded in 1970 by Peggy Schneider, Independent Living Services emerged in response to Title XIX, which established the right for individuals to live in the least restrictive environment. With the first grant, ILS purchased a home to support emerging adults with disabilities, helping them develop essential life skills.
