Our Story

Create Your Dreams (CYD) was founded in 1994 by a group of dedicated individuals who recognized the potential of students at William Boyd Elementary. Under the guidance of Dr. Annie Neely, it became clear that many children were at risk of remaining in the cycle of poverty due to a lack of mentorship and resources. This realization sparked the creation of a summer camp for twenty students, which evolved into a comprehensive after-school program aimed at supporting children until they graduate high school.

Impact

Since its inception, CYD has achieved remarkable success, with 100% of its students graduating high school. An impressive 95% of graduates pursue post-secondary education, and 75% of those are either still enrolled or have earned their degrees. CYD is transforming lives, with 80% of children born into poverty moving out of it, compared to just 4.5% without support.
