Our Story
Cover the City Project began in 2013 when Amanda Anderson witnessed a homeless man sleeping on a bench behind the High Point Krispy Kreme. Moved by his plight, she rallied friends to provide him with essential items like coats, scarves, blankets, and gift cards. This act of kindness sparked a larger mission to support the homeless population, especially during the cold winter months. Partnering with Open Door Ministries, Cover the City was established to collect and distribute blankets to those in need, both in shelters and on the streets. Each November, blanket drives are organized across various chapters to ensure that no one has to face the harsh winter without warmth.
