Our Story
Coventry Youth Soccer Association (CSA) has a rich history that began in the late 1970s when Nick Della Cioppa initiated youth soccer in Coventry, Rhode Island. Initially played on town fields shared with baseball and football, the program faced challenges that led to a partnership with the Police Athletic League (PAL) in 1980. Under the leadership of Dave Beaudry, the league was renamed Coventry PAL Soccer, and the Della Cioppa Tournament was established to honor its founder.
In 1990, a dedicated group of individuals took the reins to form the Coventry Youth Soccer Association, ensuring the continuity and growth of youth soccer in the community. With the vision of developing their own fields, CSA signed a lease in 1993 for land on Fish Hill Road, culminating in the opening of the Fish Hill Soccer Complex in 1995. Over the years, the complex has expanded significantly, adding more fields and enhancing security measures to protect the facilities.
