The Cove

Our Story

Founded by Cheryl Pooler and community volunteer Rosemary Townsend in 2015, The Cove emerged from a pressing need for a safe haven for vulnerable youth in Waco, Texas. After witnessing the struggles of students facing abuse, abandonment, and homelessness, Cheryl dedicated herself to creating a nurturing environment where these young people could thrive. Inspired by successful models like the NEST in Georgetown, TX, The Cove opened its doors in October 2016, providing essential support services to help students graduate high school and achieve their dreams.

Impact

Since its inception, The Cove has positively impacted the lives of 295 young people, with an impressive 93% of seniors graduating from local high schools.
