The Joslyn Center, established in 1981, began as a small gathering of 40 individuals in Palm Desert. As the community's needs grew, a permanent location was secured, leading to the opening of the center in 1985, thanks to the generosity of local philanthropist Merritt Joslyn and support from the cities of Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert. Today, it serves as a vital resource for adults aged 50 and older, offering a variety of programs and services designed to enhance their quality of life.

With over 2,000 members and daily visitors ranging from 250 to 400, the Joslyn Center plays a crucial role in the Coachella Valley. Its innovative programs, such as the UCLA Longevity Center Brain Boot Camp, empower older adults to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
