Child Welfare Advocacy

Our Story

Founded in 1985, CASA of Travis County emerged from the dedication of community members and judges, becoming the fourth CASA program in Texas. Initially, 43 volunteers supported 85 children, and today, nearly 600 volunteers advocate for almost 1,000 children annually.

Impact on Children

For children facing abuse or neglect, CASA provides a sense of belonging and prioritization. In 2023, 79% of closed cases resulted in family reunification or permanent relative placements, with 86% achieving stable homes. Judges highly regard CASA’s recommendations, with 66% being ordered.
