Our Story

Founded in 1963 by families of individuals with disabilities, Courageous Community Services has dedicated itself to creating a safe and inclusive environment at Courageous Acres. This summer camp welcomes children, teenagers, and adults of all abilities, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Campers engage in fun activities, learn new skills, and form lasting friendships, all while connecting with nature.

Impact

Since its inception in 1965, Courageous Acres has positively impacted thousands of individuals with special needs and their families across Northwest Ohio. Each summer, the camp serves between 150-250 campers, providing them with a home away from home where they can thrive, explore, and enjoy recreational opportunities.
