Our Story

Founded in 1967 by Franklin C. and Annette B. Kulle, Countryside Day School began with a vision to bring the Montessori tradition to the northern suburbs of Chicago. Starting with just 52 students and a small staff, the school has grown significantly over the years. Satellite classes were opened in Skokie and Northbrook, leading to the purchase of the current property at 1985 Pfingsten Road in 1971.

As the demand for quality Montessori education increased, Countryside expanded its offerings, adding elementary classes, a gym, and various programs such as after-school care and Spanish language classes. The introduction of a Middle School program in 2012 marked a significant milestone, further enhancing the educational experience for students.

Impact

The unique educational approach at Countryside Day School has a profound impact on students, equipping them with essential skills for success beyond the classroom. Students excel in subsequent educational settings, demonstrating competitive performance on standardized tests. More importantly, they develop respect, responsibility, and resourcefulness, becoming engaged citizens who positively contribute to their communities.
