Our Story

Country Dance New York (CDNY) is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the joy of contra dancing and English country dancing with the vibrant community of New York City. For over a century, CDNY has been a cornerstone of traditional dance in NYC, hosting two dances each week from September to early June. This diverse group of dancers, ranging from seasoned veterans to newcomers, unites people of all backgrounds, creating a welcoming environment where everyone can experience the joy of dance.
