Our Story
Cottonwood Gulch Expeditions, founded in 1926 by Hillis Howie, has a rich history of promoting outdoor education and inclusivity. From leading the first all-girls expedition in 1934 to establishing strong ties with the Navajo Nation, this organization has inspired countless youth, including notable figures like author Kurt Vonnegut.
